Our mission is to provide unbiased advice to the Tulsa City Council and the Tulsa County Board of Commissioners on development and zoning matters, to provide a public forum that fosters public participation and transparency in land development and planning, to adopt and maintain a comprehensive plan for the metropolitan area, and to provide other planning, zoning, and land division services that promote the harmonious development of the Tulsa Metropolitan Area and enhance and preserve the quality of life for the region’s current and future residents.

City of Tulsa Zoning Code amendments

The new City of Tulsa Zoning Code became effective on January 1, 2016. After almost a year of implementation, several items were identified that required amendments to the new Zoning Code.   Primarily these items were identified through interactions with the public, both through the zoning and building permit processes.  Most amendments are minor in nature and reflect needed changes and clarifications identified in implementation.  The proposed amendments are located in every chapter of the Zoning Code, except for Chapters 1, 30 and 85.

The City Council adopted these amendments in Ordinance No. 23668 at a public hearing on March 22, 2017.  The ordinance is anticipated to become effective on May 10, 2017
